Guam high school closed over health issues

Guam's Southern High School has been closed for a wide variety of health and safety violations, including not having enough working toilets and not having functioning fire alarms.

The Pacific Daily News reports that the decision by the Guam Public School System's Health and Safety Task Force followed a visit last week.

The high school will remain closed if the violations are not fixed by next week, which is the end of the spring break.

The Task Force found that the school had few working toilets, hazardous waste was stored on campus, most of the fire alarms did not work, and an abandoned swimming pool was filled with water, trash, and live fish.
