A second employee of the accounts division in the Ministry of Police and Prisons in Samoa has been charged in relation to 150,000 US dollars which has allegedly been misappropriated from the Ministry.

Sources say the person in question is the supervisor of the police accounts section.

The assistant police commissioner and spokesperson, Papalii Li'o, says the suspect remains in custody after charges were laid yesterday.

Meanwhile the Ministry's principal accountant, Taylor Miti, who is facing 113 counts each of theft as a servant, forgery, and falsifying accounts, made another court appearance yesterday.

His case has been adjourned to a later date without a plea because police are still investigating the matter.
