Tongan tourism authorities say they hope to attract cruise ship visits during the coronation celebrations in August.
The coronation of King George Tupou V is expected to be attended by royals and dignitaries from around the globe.
The director in the ministry of tourism, Edgar Cocker, says he hopes that cruise ships will reschedule their stops in Nuku'alofa to coincide with the coronation.
"I am at the moment looking for the possibility of negotiating with cruise lining companies to see if the can visit Tonga during the coronation."
