A convicted rapist in Samoa, who was jailed for seven years but released on parole, has been found guilty for the second time on the charge.

32 year old Neli Pa'uesi, of Tanugamanono village, was charged three weeks after the offence took place in April last year.

He was also found guilty of one count of abduction.

It is the first time in a Samoa rape case that DNA samples have been pivotal to the outcome.
