People of Yandina in the Russell Islands of Solomon Islands are urging the government to deal with the threat posed by crocodiles.
The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation quotes a spokesman for concerned locals, Eddie Grant Suku, as saying there have been numerous incidents both last year and this year in which people have been attacked by crocodiles.
The latest incident came yesterday when a person narrowly escaped an attack outside the Yandina Fisheries area.
