The sacked members of Fiji's Great Council of Chiefs have filed fresh court proceedings against the interim Prime Minister following his appointment as GCC chairman.

The Fiji Times says Ratu Savenaca Komaisavai, who represents former GCC chairman Ratu Ovini Bokini and other sacked members, filed a new application for leave to file another judicial review case in court.

The sacked members seek a declaration that the Fijian Affairs GCC Regulation 2008 is legally invalid, null and void and has no legal effect on the grounds that it was made for improper purposes of furthering or strengthening a usurping regime.

They are seeking grant of leave to apply for judicial review in the matter.
