The Solomon Islands National Sports Council's Lands Task Force has indentified two sites for a National Stadium.
The Solomon Islands Broadcasting Corporation reports the possibilities are a 20 hectare golf course at Ranadi, and a sixty hectare parcel of land at the southeastern end of the runway at Honiara's Henderson Field Airport.
The Lands Task Force is to come up with a suitable site by the end of June.
This comes after the Minister of Home Affairs, James Tora, told Parliament that Taiwan is willing to fund the construction of a national sports stadium.
Mr Tora says such a stadium would be the first phase of the country's bid to host the South Pacific Games in 2015.
