A former territorial delegate to the United States Congress has been chosen as the new president of the University of Guam.
Dr Robert Underwood, a native of Guam, represented the island in Congress from 1993 to 2003.
He served as the university's academic vice president from 1990 to 1992, and is a professor emeritus at the institution.
The paper, the Pacific Daily News says he will assume the presidency on May 19.
