Eight Samoa villages awarded grants by UNESCO to begin conservation projects

Eight Samoa villages have been awarded grants by UNESCO to begin conservation projects.

Projects funded by the programme target biodiversity, land degradation, international waters, persistent organic pollutants and climate change.

The grants are up to 45 thousand US dollars and are for projects such as water conservation, eco cultural tourism, reforestation and marine management.
