The Consumer Council of Fiji says health inspectors should fine supermarkets that fail to comply with the Pure Foods Act.

Fiji Live online says the Council's chief executive Premila Kumar says health inspectors should conduct routine checks on supermarkets that violate the required condition under the Act.

This follows complaints by people that some supermarkets had cockroaches on shelves.
