Tourism figures from French Polynesia show a continued decline in international arrivals.

In March, arrival numbers were down by more than seven percent over March 2007, with a drop of more than 20 percent in Australian visitors.

There were also 13 percent fewer tourists from Japan and the United States.

For the first quarter of 2008, the drop in tourist arrivals was nearly 10 percent.

Official figures show tourists stay on average for 13 days.
