The Samoan government has banned all sports competitions for college and high schools for this year after a violent brawl between students.
Three male students from the Don Bosco technical school are facing attempted murder charges for seriously injuring a female student.

"The cabinet in its weekly meeting has decided to ban all sports activities for high schools and colleges in the country as a result of a violent school braw lin the last two weeks. The school brawl resulted in one of the police officers being injured and several students as well. And also, a female student from Lefifi college is suffering from severe burns as a result of a petrol bomb. Last Friday the police released on bail 20 Don Bosco students, which includes three Don Bosco students who are jointly charged with the attempted murder."
