The Samoa government has banned all sports competitions for college and high schools for the remainder of the year after a violent brawl between students.
Three male students from the Don Bosco technical school are facing attempted murder charges for seriously injuring a female student.
Autagavaia Tipi Autagavaia reports from Apia.
"The Cabinet in its weekly meeting has decided to ban all sports activities for high schools and colleges in the country, as a result of a violent school brawl in the last two weeks. The brawl resulted in one police officer being injured and several students as well. Also a female student from Lefifi college is suffering from severe burns as a result of a petrol bomb. Last Friday police released, on bail, 20 Don Bosco students, including the three jointly charged with the attempted murder."
