Papua New Guinea's Port Moresby General Hospital is so underfunded that sick children are going days without milk, food and other necessary supplies.
Doctors say that powdered milk and nutritional supplements for the young are being rationed because there simply is not enough to meet growing demand.
The children's tuberculosis, HIV and malnutrition ward in the hospital needs donations of milk powder, UHT milk, canned food and rice and hospital officials, along with the Australian High Commission, is urging anyone who can assist to supply whatever they can.
One doctor, Movumo Kiramat, says the hospital is not able to run its full nutritional program but with assistance from outside it could offer greater services.
