The joint bulk fuel purchasing committee of the two Samoas will meet in August to discuss if American Samoa and Samoa could buy imported fuel together.
The discussions will centre on research carried by out by American Samoa's office of pretroleum products
American Samoa identified two types of petroleum products they had in common with Samoa - lube oil and marine diesel.
Both sides agree there are benefits to be made by having a joint purchasing arrangement for the bulk purchasing of fuel.
