The Pacific Islands News Association says it is important it remains in Fiji to continue having dialogue with the interim government.

The head the media association of solomon islands, John Lamani reportedly told World Press Freedom Day celebrations in Honiara that regional media organisations must be moved away from Fiji.

The head of Pina, Joseph Ealedona, says the organisation won't run away from threats to media freedom.

"We won't move out of Fiji, we will remain where we are until and unless the annual general meeting and the entire membership says otherwise, we will continue to remain there, and continue to have dialogue with the interim government."

Joseph Ealedona says PINA was part of a meeting with local media and the interim Prime Minister, and is continuing to advise the media and the Government.
