Seven Oceania football nations will go head to head in Fiji next month for the chance to win a trip to Brazil for the FIFA Futsal World Cup in September.

The teams from New Caledonia, New Zealand, Solomon Islands, Tahiti, Tuvalu, Fiji and Vanuatu, will take part in the four yearly event won by Australia four times since it began in 1992.

However, with Australia switching confederations the championship will provide an opportunity for other nations to play for the top prize.

New Zealand finished runners up in 2004 with Vanuatu finishing third.

Futsal is a 5-aside indoor version of the game.
