Fiji's Independent Commission against Corruption has vowed to continue its investigations, despite a court ruling acquitting two people charged with obstructing a FICAC officer in the execution of her duty.

Rajendra Chaudhry, the son of finance minister, Mahendra Chaudhry, and Losalini Waqausa, officials of the Fiji Sport Council, were suspended on allegations of obstructing a FICAC officer, but were yesterday acquitted by the Suva court.

In a statement FICAC says it respects the ruling made by the Magistrate Court, but it will not have an impact on current and future investigations.

FICAC says it pleads with the peoples of Fiji to help eradicate corruption.
