Former French soccer champions to play in French Polynesia and New Caledonia

The French Pacific is gearing up for two soccer matches with the 1998 French world champion team to celebrate its New Caledonian member, Christian Karembeu.

The French stars, including Zinedine Zidane, have arrived in Tahiti for tomorrow night's match which will also mark the career of Pascal Vahirua, French Polynesia's top player during the 1990's.

10,000 spectators are expected in Tahiti tomorrow night and a similar number in Noumea later this week.

The New Caledonian match will also be attended by FIFA president, Sepp Blatter, and the junior French minister in charge of overseas territories, Yves Jego.
