113 foreign workers in Saipan left unemployed as yet another garment factory closes

Another garment manufacturer in the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas has shut down operations.

Kyungseung Saipan Incorporated closed its plant making its 113 foreign workers jobless.

The work permits of all the 113 employees have been cancelled but they may stay in Saipan to register with the Labor Division of Employment Services.

If a worker fails to find an employer within the 30-day transfer period, they need to report to the authorities in order to arrange for repatriation.

With the closure, only six garment factories remain on Saipan.

The CNMI used to have 34 garment factories
