In the Commonwealth of the Northern Marianas rolling blackouts are expected to hit Saipan until as late as August as maintenance dates on two power generators are put back.
The executive director of the Commonwealth Utilities Corporation, Antonio Muna, has apologised, saying the earlier June deadline was too optimistic.
He says the latest hold up is in getting the necessary spare parts.
