Fiji police say they have managed to identify the suspects who allegedly made death threats against the Australian High Commissioner, James Batley.

Police have given no further details but a police spokesperson Ema Mua has confirmed to Fijivillage that more than one person is involved.

The threats were made in letters delivered to the Commission last month.

The interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, suggested last month that the threat may have been made from inside the high commission.

The comment was rejected by the Australian high commission.
