Local companies in American Samoa win right to supply school lunches

9:59 am on 11 June 2008

Nine out of ten product categories for American Samoa's School Lunch Program have been awarded to local companies.

Pacific Sales, Tautua Mo Oe, Island's Choice, and GHC Reid Incorporated were awarded contracts worth 2.25 million US dollars.

The only off island company which received an award was Chevalier of New Zealand which will supply seasonal produce.

But because the School Lunch Program has enough juice to supply the first quarter of the school year, interested parties can apply later.
