Fiji rugby winger fails to turn up for trip to Japan

Fiji's star winger, Vilimoni Delasau is in trouble after failing to turn up at the airport as the team prepared to fly out to Japan yesterday for the next round of the Pacific Nations Cup.

The Fiji Rugby Union expressed disappointment with Delasau, saying he had left the coaching staff and players in the dark about his decision not to go despite collecting allowances for the trip.

The Union's High Performance Unit manager Peter Murphy said the FRU would decide on whether to take disciplinary action against the winger at a meeting tomorrow.

Delasau could not be contacted for comment yesterday and his family at Sorokoba Village said they were just as surprised as the team.
