Solomons police yet to arrest RAMSI officer involved in fatal vehicle accident

The Solomon Islands Police are yet to arrest or charge the RAMSI police officer who was driving the vehicle that hit and killed a local nurse over the weekend.

The interim Police Commissioner Peter Marshall says investigations into the accident are continuing.

However Provincial Police Commander of Honiara City, Philip Kaukui revealed no charges have yet been laid against the driver of the vehicle.

He however confirmed the officer was questioned on the night of the

accident.

PPF Commander Denis McDermott has told local media that the immunity issue is now between the Samoan and Solomon Islands Government.

He said RAMSI will assist in the facilitation of the discussions.
