A Samoan government MP, who is a former senior police officer, Patu Ativalu Togi II, has urged the police commissioner to act against the Samoan officers incolved in a fatal accident in Solomon Islands.

He says the commissioner Papalii Lorenese Neru should consider doing the right thing after the two Samoans serving with the international police in Solomon Islands were involved in a crash that killed a woman.

The MP says if the officers cannot be charged under Solomon Islands law, their service in the Samoan Ministry of Police and Prisons should be terminated.

An independent MP, Lealailepule Rimoni Aiafi, says the involvement of the two Samoan officers in the incident is embarrassing for the whole country and government.
