The American Samoa Power Authority is asking the territorial Government to pay its overdue utility bills which have been estimated at more than two million dollars.

A board member, who did not wish to be named, says that ASPA is hurting because the government - which is one of its biggest customers, has not been paying its bills.

He says assurances from Treasury and Budget there would be regular payments have not been realized so the ASPA board has asked for Governor Togiola Tulafono's intervention.

The Budget Director, Magalei Logovii, has told the Fono that a supplemental budget would be submitted to take care of the utility bills.
