A former internal auditor at Samoa's Ministry of Revenue has pleaded guilty to theft as a servant.
Pepe Tevaga admitted to the charge of taking more than 3,500 US dollars of the customs department in 2004 when she held a senior position in the finance section.
Tevaga was originally charged by the police with 16 counts of theft as a servant relating to more than 25,000 US dollars of public
funds that allegedly went missing from the customs office.
However the Supreme Court judge, Vui Clarence Nelson, granted an application from a prosecution lawyer for the other 15 charges to be withdrawn and dismissed because the accused had accepted a plea bargain.
She will be sentenced next month.
