Guam will host the 2016 Pacific Arts Festival.
This was decided by the Council of Pacific Arts which oversees the festival.
The Melanesian, Polynesian and Micronesian countries take turns hosting the event.
The co-chair of the American Samoa festival committee, Fagafaga Daniel Langkilde, says Guam was the only Micronesian country to put in a bid.
Solomon Islands which will host the 2012 event also gave an update on its preparations.
