The police in Samoa are investigating the killing of a village matai by four men who are currently in police custody and face a first degree murder charge.

The assistant police commissioner and spokesman, Papalii Li'o, says the alleged killing took place at Leauvaa village, last Thursday after a Lands and Titles court ruling over a land dispute between the family of the deceased and the family of the four accused.
