The first monthly issue of a bilingual woman's magazine in Samoa has come out this week with 1,000 copies being distributed for sale around the country.

The Woman's Time magazine is an initiative of the former editor of SBC TV news, Merita Tua Huch.

In promoting the first issue of a woman's magazine to be produced and printed in Samoa, Ms Huch, who is also the editor in chief, says she considered extending the distribution to countries such as New Zealand, Australia, and the United States where many Samoan women live.

Our correspondent in Apia says the magazine is a milestone achievement by a young Samoan woman journalist.
