Talks have been held in French Polynesia in a bid to avert a strike at Tahiti's fuel supply companies.
A strike notice has been issued by unions demanding higher pays and is set to expire within two days.
This comes as a tanker is due in Papeete later this week to furnish the petrol companies.
It would be the third strike this year by the same unions targetting the fuel supply.
