Three unarmed ballistic missiles launched by the United States Air Force have reached their targets near Kwajalein Atoll in the Marshall Islands.

The Canadian Press reports that the successful test of the unarmed Minuteman intercontinental missiles was launched last night from a base in California.

The Air Force installed tracking and command destruct systems on the missiles to collect data and meet safety requirements on the 6,800-kilometre journey over the Pacific Ocean to their re-entry targets.
