Two Fiji police officers are under investigation after a robbery suspect confessed to receiving help from them during several shop break-ins in Labasa.

A senior police officer has told The Fiji Times newspaper the two police constables were accused of informing the suspect of the best time to steal from shops around the town.

The officer says there have been several robbery cases in the town involving thousands of dollars.

Police public relations officer Atunaisa Sokomuri told the paper he was trying to clarify the issue and would comment later.
