Fatal Fiji bus fire probes continue

1:35 pm on 1 September 2008

Fiji's Fire- and Land Transport Authority and the Road Safety Council are currently in a meeting to discuss the investigation into last week's fatal bus accident.

Ten people died last Friday when a bus caught fire near the town of Sigatoka.

Investigations are underway and a National Fire Authority spokesperson says it's still unclear what caused the fire.

The interim prime minister, Commodore Frank Bainimarama, has called for more stringent measures to prevent such incidents from happening again.
