Official results from last week's Vanuatu general elections have been released as lobbying over the formation of the new government intensifies.
Two rival blocs of MPs in Vanuatu are claiming a majority of seats in the 52-seat parliament.
Having won 11 seats, the Vanua'aku Party is the party with the most MPs, and has formed a bloc with its coalition partner of the past four years, the National United Party which has 8 MPs.
The bloc says it has the support of a number of independents and smaller parties, giving it a majority of 30 MPs.
However a rival bloc formed around the Vanuatu Republican Party, which has seven seats, is also claiming the support of 30 MPs.
The VRP leader Maxime Carlot Korman says he is on course to be Prime Minister.
"The majority is with me at the moment. I'm trying to make arrangements for the next government to be strong and fair-sharing, and to develop this country, that it's going in the wrong road now with the Vanuaaku Pati. seconds"
