12:41 pm on 18 September 2008

A multimillion parliamentary complex for Samoa which has offices for those MPs outside of Cabinet is being officially opened today.

The three storey complex, paid for by China, is named after former long serving Prime Minister Tofilau Eti Alesana.

The speaker, Tolofuaivalelei Falemoe Lei'ataua, earlier this week in Parliament praised China for the assistance given.

He says the opening of the first ever complex for MPs is a milestone in

Samoa's political history.

The new complex has a members lounge, a gym, and offices for various parliamentary committees.
