A call for efforts to be made to curb fighting among students in Tonga

A group of students has been expelled from Liahona High School on Tonga's main island, Tongatapu, after a brawl with students from Tonga College.

Tonga Broadcasting Corporation reports that the fighting, which occurred a week ago, has seen a number of the students appear in court.

The principal of Liahona High School, Sione Angakehe Tafuna, says the vast majority of the school's students are well behaved, and the offenders are just looking for attention.

He wants parents and guardians, ministers, police, and school staff to work closely on finding ways to curb the fighting among students in Tonga.
