The Fiji Rugby Union has announced the appointment of Alifereti Malo

and Jope Tuivanuavou as co-managers for the Fiji 7s team to the upcoming

IRB 2008/09 7s Series.

FRU chief executive officer Timoci Tavanavanua says the two will share the role of manager throughout the Series.

He added the Board will decide later who will manage the team to the 7s World Cup in Dubai in March.

He says both men will bring a variety of skills to their new positions.

Malo, who is currently a principal trainer with Turnbull Maggs Limited, a

Suva based consulting company, was manager of the Nadi Rugby Union in 2000-2001.

During this period Nadi successfully beat Naitasiri for the coveted Farebrother

Sullivan trophy.

Tuivanuavou, is also no stranger to the rugby fraternity.

An avid sportsperson, Tuivanuavou represented the Fiji Under 21 team in a tour to Tonga in 1976.

He later represented Suva in provincial rugby from 1976-1993 before becoming an FRU provincial referee.
