Small business forum in Samoa this week

11:02 am on 14 October 2008

Niueans are among the private sector stakeholders convening in Samoa for the Pacific Regional Small, Medium and Micro-Enterprises Forum.

Organised by the Pacific Islands Private Sector Organisation PIPSO in partnership with the Pacific Islands Forum Secretariat, the Government of Samoa and the Samoa Chamber of Commerce, this year's theme is Building Opportunities Together.

Patricia Hunter is a member of Niue's Chamber of Commerce and says she's looking forward to talks, as micro enterprise is well suited to Niue's small population.

"We've been asked to talk about what happens on Niue in the private sector and the entreprenuerial area. So we'll be covering what happens, how it happens and what we see are ways that the government and other bodies could help private sector development."

The forum, which targets SMMEs in 14 Pacific members of the African Caribbean and Pacific Grouping officially opens tomorrow night.
