Fiji's interim Prime Minister Commodore Frank Bainimarama says he is frustrated with comments made by the man he ousted from power.

Laisenia Qarase told journalists this week that the interim government's reign has been too long.

He made the comments after expressing concern over the lack of urgency by the interim Government in holding a general election.

But speaking to Fijilive, Commodore Frank Bainimarama said Mr Qarase should stop wasting his time saying things against his government.

The Commodore says if Mr Qarase has a problem with the way the country is being run, he should say it to him in person.

He says he urges the former leader to prove that the interim government is not doing enough to take Fiji forward.
