11:27 am on 22 October 2008

South Pacific Express is to begin flying daily between Samoa and American Samoa this week.

Up to now the airline suspends flights one day a week for maintenance.

But , beginning tomorrow, the airline will fly daily.

Its local operations manager, Roberta Huff Laussen, says they will have maintenance Friday evening and Saturday morning and will fly their first flight on Saturday in the afternoon.

Ms Huff Laussen says the loads for incoming flights to the end of the week are higher than usual and she believes it's due to spectators and participants for the Miss South Pacific Pageant, and a tattoo festival.
