Ni-Vanuatu RSE worker dies in NZ

Vanuatu's Labour Commissioner has confirmed that a ni-Vanuatu seasonal employee has died in New Zealand at the weekend.

Radio Vanuatu reports that the Commissioner, Lionel Kaluat, says preparations are underway to repatriate the body of Willie Alick, who is from Epi and had undergone a number of medical operations while working under the scheme in New Zealand.

His body will be flown to Port Vila today.

He was employed in the viticulture industry in Marlborough and had been in New Zealand for the last five months.
