American Samoa's re-elected Governor urges political unity

In his first address to the territory since winning re-election American Samoa's Governor Togiola Tulafono has asked his opponents to join the government in service to the territory.

The governor mentioned the candidate's he beat in Tuesday's run off election for governor and lieutenant governor.

The governor thanked supporters and asked that political differences now be put aside, and everyone forge ahead to make things better in the territory.

"American Samoa, rest assured that Faoa and I will endevour with all the knowledge and strength we have to do everything in our service to re-affirm to you that your choice is right, and that we are worthy of your trust and support. Thank you once again."

Governor Togiola and Lt. Governor Faoa Ipulasi Sunia begin their second term on January 3.
