American Samoa's member of the US Congress, Faleomavaega Eni Hunkin, is meeting U.S. tuna boat owners, the South Pacific Tuna Corporation, Bumble Bee, and Chicken of the Sea, in San Diego this week.
The discussion will include local minimum wages, 30A tax credits, and pending legislation to treat all U.S. tuna boat owners the same.
After the San Diego meeting the Congressman will travel to American Samoa with Chairman Kim of Dongwon Corporation who will be making a site visit of the StarKist operations at Satala.
The Congressman said that he and Governor Togiola are fully committed to working together to do everything they can to protect the jobs of local workers.
