Fiji's interim government has allocated $12-point-4 million US dollars all Tourism Fiji's regional offices next year.

Tourism Fiji is embarking on a massive marketing campaign for next year in all its key markets to increase visitor arrivals.

The CEO Josefa Tuamoto said during the launch of the 2009 Tourism Marketing Plan that a 5-percent growth in visitor arrivals was being forecast for next year.

He said they were optimistic of reaching the one billion figure within three years time.

He told the Fiji Daily Post $3 million US has been set aside for marketing in the Australian market and $1.8 million US for New Zealand, and over 2 million US for the North American market with $1 million US for Europe.

But following the decline in tourist numbers and the withdrawal of Air Pacific's flights from Japan, money for marketing in Japan has halved.
