The Solomon Islands Prime Minister says requests have been sent to Fiji and Vanuatu to provide Commissioners to serve in the Inquiry into Land Dealings on Guadalcanal during and after the ethnic crisis.

Dr Derek Sikua has told parliament that formalities relating to the terms of reference for the Commission of Inquiry have been completed.

He says the Attorney General chambers are in the process of finalising the legal instruments for the establishment of the commission to begin early next year.

Former PNG Judge, Brian Brunton will be heading the inquiry.

Mr Brunton had also headed the Commission of Inquiry into the April 2007 riots.
