Fiji political forum expected to be deferred

4:13 pm on 18 December 2008

Fiji's second political dialogue forum may not go ahead this month as scheduled, according to one of the interlocutors of the forum.

Robin Nair told Fijilive that a busy calendar may force the meeting to be held early next year.

He says with Christmas coming up and so many meetings, they have been having difficulty in setting a date.

The interlocutors, Dr Sitiveni Halapua and Robin Nair, held talks with political parties this week, ironing out differences on the terms of reference.

Mr Nair said they hoped that all parties would attend the next meeting with the idea to move Fiji forward and not dwell on personal issues.

The first meeting of the political leaders was held in October.
