The anti-cervical cancer vaccine, Gardasil, will be available free to older girls in Fiji from this week.

The vaccine, which expires in June, has until now been distributed to nine to twelve year old girls.

But earlier data showed only about 60 percent of eligible girls got vaccinated with the first of the required three shots.

The Ministry of Health has now decided to extend the offer to girls between the age of 12 and 20.
