Solomon Airlines will raise domestic airfares by almost twenty percent from January the fifth.
The increase was previously approved by the Air Transport Licensing Authority, but was withheld until 2009.
The Solomon Star quotes the airline as saying it believes it won't affect too many people this holiday season because most have already bought their return airfares.
It says compared to other regional airlines, it's still providing cheap domestic fares despite the raise.
